the canvas.

Behind

A lone poet stands at the edge of the stage, seen only from behind, her curly hair highlighted by the dramatic blue-red stage lights. One hand grips the microphone, suspended in a quiet moment before words spill forward. Beyond them, the audience flickers into view, burlesque dancers draped in feathers, masked, and mingling with members of the Doomsday band and shadowy figures in smoky hues. The scene echoes paintings of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec in its depiction of a decadent, dreamlike nightlife where performance, desire, and observation blur into one charged, electric atmosphere.
